AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry has appointed Lindsey Scott of Nederland as judge of the 252nd Criminal District Court in Jefferson County for a term to expire at the next general election.

Scott is an assistant criminal district attorney in the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office. She is a member of the State Bar of Texas, Jefferson County Bar Association and Texas District and County Attorneys Association, and secretary of the Jefferson County Young Lawyers Association Board of Directors. She is also a volunteer attorney for the Jefferson County Pro Bono Program, a past member of the Jefferson County Family Violence Task Force and a past volunteer for the Julie Rogers "Gift of Life" Program in Beaumont.

Scott received a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and a law degree from South Texas College of Law.
