Sgt. Anthony R. Maddox

November 15, 1990 - July 22, 2013

Monday, July 22, 2013 Sgt. Anthony R. Maddox passed away peacefully in Germany due to injuries sustained in Afghanistan.

Sgt. Maddox was born November 15, 1990 to Glenda F. Key and Jerome Maddox, Jr. He graduated from Nederland High School in 2009. From high school he entered the Job Corp. Not feeling that he was challenged, Sgt. Maddox decided to join the United States Army in 2011.

Sgt. Maddox was preceded in death by his grandmother Sara Maddox.

Sgt. Maddox is survived by his loving parents Glenda F. Key and stepfather Ronald Key of Port Arthur, TX and father Jerome Maddox Jr. (Francis) of Bloomington, IL; stepbrother Ronald Key II of Houston, TX; one half brother Jerome Maddox II (Carshena) of Berea, OH; three half sisters, Tenessa Jennings of New York, Victoria Patrice Maddox and Ambria Patrice Maddox of Bloomington, IL; grandparents Cora and Wilfred Smith of New Orleans, grandfather Jerome Maddox Sr. of Fern Park, FL, grandmother Mary Drusella Key of Metairie, LA; his favorite aunt Roxann "T-Dee" Smith of New Orleans, LA; uncle Terry Smith of New Orleans; cousin Terry Smith Jr. of Goldsboro, NC; great aunt Marie "Mary" Stover (Darryl) and great uncle Ronald Taylor (Jocelyn); and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 3920 W. Cardinal Drive, Beaumont, TX with a visitation from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Houston National Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
