Fox & Friends co-host Pete Hegseth may have just ruined axe throwing on daytime television for everyone else. On June 14th's episode of the show, Hegseth promoted an upcoming Stihl Timbersports segment on the show by tossing an axe at a target. Members of the Army Hellcats band happened to standing behind the target, and when Hegseth's throw sailed over the wall, the axe struck drummer Jeff Prosperie. Prosperie uploaded video of the incident to his Facebook page.
Moments after the incident, Hegseth interviewed Prosperie on camera. Prosperie wrote on Facebook that he suffered a couple of cuts but that the injuries could have been much worse.
"I was hit by an axe while performing a drum solo live on National TV…..words I never imagined saying! This happened last Sunday and I have been reluctant to post but starting to receive inquiries from concerned family and friends. I am thankful to God that the double sided blade only hit broadside on the outer elbow with significant impact and a couple of cuts as it fell along my wrist. It could have been much worse or fatal. Focusing on full physical and emotional recovery…. My leadership told me they were told there would be no axe throwing. I think the anchor person went rogue and decided to throw it."
