Silsbee Police officers arrested the former director of the city's public library as part of an ongoing theft investigation.
According to a Silsbee Police Department news release, the former Library Director, Crystal Mallet Moss, 36, of Silsbee, is charged with theft by a public servant, a third degree felony.
Moss is accused of embezzling more than $25,000 over a two year period. Investigators say she redired the money for her personal use.
Moss surrendered to Silsbee Police Wednesday morning and was arraigned by Hardin County Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 Judge Chris Ingram. Bond for Moss was set at $25,000.
She was booked into the Hardin County Jail.
As of January 2016, Moss is no longer employed with the city. "
