Port Arthur Police Sergeant Scott Gaspard believes 24-year-old Allison Neil Clark used the last moments of her life making sure her three-year-old daughter would be safe.
Gaspard said, "That mother from my perspective gave the ultimate sacrifices to protect her child."
On May 14, 2010, as Clark drove down West Port Arthur Road, someone shot her. Police say her daughter Cadence was asleep in the backseat. Despite being gravely wounded, Clark managed to turn on her hazard lights, which eventually alerted authorities.
Gaspard said, "It touched all of our hearts."
The young mother's murder generated many leads. Gaspard said, "We chased leads all over Texas, we had a crew at the Texas/Oklahoma border interviewing people about a year ago. Every now and then, we get a lead until it's a dead end."
So far no lead has panned out. But Gaspard says they are pursuing a lead now, but he could not provide specifics, so not to jeopardize the investigation.
Gaspard said, "We haven't stopped and we're not going to stop until the suspects are in jail."
