Father, son and accomplice charged in theft of statue from Port Arthur Library

Three men have been charged and two arrested in connection with the theft of a statue that was taken from in front of the Port Arthur library.

Three men have been charged and two arrested in connection with the theft of a statue that was taken from in front of the Port Arthur library.

A spokesperson for the Port Arthur Police Department said Josh Manaway Sr, 52, his son Josh Manaway Jr, 28, and Terry Rogers, 42, all of Port Arthur, were arrested for the theft that happened in February.

Investigators found the statue after it was cut into many pieces and partially sold for scrap.

The estimated value of the statue is $120,000.

Jefferson County Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Marc Derouen set bond at $50,000 each.

Terry Rogers was already in jail on an unrelated charge and the warrant was served to him in jail. Josh Manaway Sr. was arrested and taken to jail. A police spokesperson said Josh Manaway Jr. remains at large.
