HAMSHIRE, Texas — Renovations and additions to Hamshire-Fannett High School are continuing and expected to be completed by January 2024 according to an update from the district.
The district posted a batch of photos on Sunday showing some of the progress.
A $36.9 million bond that was approved by voters in the district in 2020 is paying for the project.
The library and administrative offices, including the principal's office, counselor's office and nurse's office are already done and in use according to Canizales.
The project includes improvements to the administration offices as well as building a new gym, band hall and a new career and technical education building.
Everything is estimated to be complete by January 2024 according to district spokesperson Mike Canizales.
The ag shop, wood shop, band hall and gym are likely to be ready to use in mid-January 2024 according to Canizales.

"The students, the staff, the community at large, having these new facilities, obviously more space, but also updated space. We are standing in an area that is going to house technical programs," superintendent Dr. Dwaine Augustine told 12News previously.
Another concern being addressed by the renovations is drainage and concrete blocks have been installed to prevent water damage to the school Augustine previously told 12News.
"The new facilities are higher than the existing ones. The drainage has been much improved. All of the infrastructure has been completely removed and everything in the ground is new," he said.
