TYLER COUNTY, Texas — A Tyler County jury found a Lumberton doctor not guilty of multiple child sex abuse charges.
Kerry Lane Evans was previously charged with two counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child and five counts of indecency with a child, officials told 12News. Evans was indicted on these charges in June 2019.
On Friday, November 4, 2022, a jury cleared Evans of all charges. A judge has extinguished all of Evans' bond restrictions.
In July 2019, a Texas Medical Board disciplinary panel temporarily suspended Evans' medical license, after deciding his continuation in the practice of medicine posed a threat to public welfare.
Prior to the suspension, Evans practiced in Woodville and Lumberton. That suspension went into effect on July 24, 2019 and will remain in place until the board meets again to take further action.
