Woman wounded in early morning shooting outside north Beaumont home

The woman and a friend arrived at her home when another vehicle pulled up and someone began shooting.

BEAUMONT, Texas — A woman was wounded in an overnight shooting in the north end of Beaumont early Thursday morning.

The shooting happened in the 4300 block of Detroit Ave, according to Beaumont Police Department dispatch records.

Just before 2 a.m. a woman and a friend arrived at her home when another vehicle pulled up and someone began shooting police said.

The woman, who was taken to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont for treatment, had wounds that were not life threatening according to police.

A light colored crew cab truck or a Colorado or Ranger with black rims is possible involved, according to police.

From the Beaumont Police Department...

At approximately 0155 hours a female and her friend had just arrived at a home in the 4300 block of Detroit when a vehicle pulled up and started shooting. 

One female sustained a non life threatening gunshot wound and was transported to St. Elizabeth for treatment. 

The vehicle then fled. Investigation is continuing and we will release vehicle and suspect info as soon as we have it.
