Vidor Police assisting Harris County with death investigation along U.S. Highway 90

The site appears to be near a couple of old buildings and a antenna tower.

VIDOR, Texas — Vidor Police are assisting Harris County in a death investigation just off Old Highway 90 on the west side of the city on Thursday.

Police were at the scene along U.S. Hwy 90 about a third of a mile west of Teal Rd. Thursday morning, where the body of an adult man was found, according to Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll.

Vidor Police tell 12News that the Southeast Texas Forensic Center is performing the autopsy.

Carroll tells 12News that there are multiple crime scenes. Harris County reached out to Vidor Police with a description of the dump site and VPD helped them locate it.

Harris County is the only entity that can talk about the case right now, according to Carroll. They tell 12News that they believe the murder happened within the last 48 hours.

The site appears to be near a couple of old buildings and an antenna tower.

Vidor Police say they can not release any more information about the case because it is part of the other agency's ongoing investigation.

This is a developing story. We will update with more if and when we receive more confirmed information.
