VIDOR, Texas — A student at Vidor Junior High School has been detained after threatening to harm other students at the school.
An investigation was done and law enforcement agencies were notified about the threat, according to a Vidor Independent School District news release.
The district notified the parents of the students who they know the threat may have been targeting.
The district says that people came forward to report the incident and they are confident that the threat has been contained.
From a VISD news release:
Vidor ISD recently became aware of a Vidor Junior High School student who expressed intent to cause harm to other students. An investigation was conducted, proper law enforcement agencies were notified, and the student was detained. The school district has notified the parents of those students we know may have been a target of the threat. We appreciate the individuals who came forward to report the incident. We would like to take this opportunity to remind students, staff, and members of the community to report anything that concerns you. We are confident that the threat is contained. The safety of our students and staff is of utmost importance, and Vidor ISD remains committed to providing a safe school environment. Thank you.
