Two men, woman indicted on murder, other charges in May 2018 death of Nederland man

All three suspects were indicted on charges of murder, conspiracy, burglary of a habitation and aggravated robbery in connection with the May 2018 death of a Nederland man found in his home.

BEAUONT — A Jefferson County grand jury has handed down indictments for two men and a woman in connection with the May 2018 murder of a Nederland man.

Dcobien James Dorsey, 19, Ashlie Cherie Martinez, 24 and Duane Lamonte Owens Jr., 23, were all indicted this week on charges of murder, conspiracy, burglary of a habitation and aggravated robbery in connection with the death of Michael Odell Legg, 40, according to a news release from the Jefferson County District Attorney's Office.

Additionally Martinez and Owens each face felony charges of family assault that are unrelated to Legg's death.

Legg was found dead in his Beauxarts Gardens home in the early morning hours of May 9, 2018.

Justice of the Peace Tom Gillam, III, ruled Legg died from multiple trauma stemming from an assault.

Surveillance video from a neighbor's doorbell camera shows what investigators believe to be two of the suspects prowling around a neighbor's home near the night of the murder.
