KOUNTZE, Texas — The trial of a Warren man accused in the fatal shooing of a Silsbee man in 2022 began Monday morning in a Hardin County courtroom.
John Richard Overstreet, 25, of Warren, is accused of fatally shooting Randy Reed, 39, of Silsbee, in April 2022 at Hardin County Park north of Silsbee.

He's also accused of wounding another man, Adam Hall, of Silsbee, during that shooting that happened along the Neches River.
Overstreet is standing trial on charges of manslaughter and aggravated assault.
Jury selection began in the morning and testimony was expected to begin after the jury was seated.
The fatal shooting happened on a Sunday evening along the banks of the Neches River and Overstreet was arrested at the scene according to file stories
Hardin County Sheriff's deputies went to the park after being told two people were hurt in a shooting and found Reed's body along with Adam Hall, 44, of Silsbee, who was suffering from a gunshot wound.
Hall was flown from the park, just north of Silsbee, to a Southeast Texas hospital in critical condition.
Deputies found a handgun at the scene that they believe was used in the shootings. At this time, it is unclear what led to the shootings.
