Three teens arrested, facing multiple charges after burglarizing vehicles

Officers responded to a call in reference to individuals breaking into vehicles early Sunday morning.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont Police arrested three teens after they broke into vehicles and attempted to run away from officers early Sunday morning.

At 2:20 a.m., officers responded to a call in reference to individuals breaking into vehicles in the 1900 block of Roberts St. 

When officers got there, the saw several individuals near a Kia that had been broken into. The ignition column was also damaged. 

The suspects ran away from the scene, but were caught by officers shortly after. 

During the foot chase, a stolen firearm was discovered, which had been dropped by one of the suspects, according to police. 

Two 16-year-olds and one 15-year-old were arrested and taken to the Minnie Rogers Juvenile Detention Center. 

The teens are facing charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, engaging in organized criminal activity, evading arrest, and theft of a firearm.

"The Beaumont Police Department remains committed to addressing criminal activity and ensuring the safety of our community," said the agency. "We encourage citizens to continue to call in suspicious activity. "
