All clear given following bomb threat at Jefferson County Courthouse

BEAUMONT, Texas — The all clear has been given following a bomb threat Monday morning at the Jefferson County Courthouse.

Beaumont Police and Jefferson County Deputies are investigating a bomb threat at the Jefferson County courthouse in downtown Beaumont Monday morning.

After the threat was received a search of the courthouse was conducted according to Jefferson County Precinct One Justice of the Peace Ben Collins, Sr.

The threat came in at about 6:45 a.m. according to dispatch records and by about 8: 20 a.m. the all clear had been given.

Texas Department of Public Safety troopers are also on the scene.

Streets immediately around and leading to the courthouse were briefly blocked off by deputies and police.

No other information has been released at this time.
