Multiple teens arrested in Louisiana after allegedly stealing car in Port Arthur

Further investigation revealed both guns had been stolen and the property located inside the car was from multiple vehicle burglaries that occurred earlier.

PORT ARTHUR, Texas — Three teenagers were arrested is Sulphur, Louisiana early Wednesday morning by Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies after allegedly stealing a car in Port Arthur.

At around 4 a.m. deputies spotted a car near E. Napoleon Street and Willow Street in Sulphur, that matched the description of one stolen out of Port Arthur.

As the deputies attempted to pull the car over, the driver of the vehicle took of, evading police and leading them on a short chase.

Eventually the driver was finally forced to a stop at the dead end of Barney Hoffpauir Road. There the driver and two passengers hopped out of the car and ran into the nearby wooded area.

CPSO Deputies immediately set up a perimeter and a CPSO K9 was deployed. Finally after over an hour of searching, deputies found 18-year-old Droman T. Baltazar, as well a 16-year-old.

Later that morning, 18-year-old Quindarius Moore emerged from the woods and turned himself in to CPSO. All three teenagers were from Texas.

During an investigation, detectives located two guns inside the stolen car, as well as property belonging to individuals in the Sulphur and Lake Charles area.

Further investigation revealed both guns had been stolen and the property located inside the car was from multiple vehicle burglaries that occurred earlier the same morning.

Baltazar and Moore were arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. The 16 year old was taken to a local hospital for injuries he sustained during his apprehension.

He was later released and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center. They are all charged with illegal possession of stolen things less than $1,000; illegal possession of stolen things $5,000 - $25,000; aggravated flight from an officer; resisting an officer by flight; and 2 counts of illegal possession of stolen firearms. Baltazar is additionally charged with possession of marijuana. Their bonds have not yet been set.

The investigations are ongoing and more charges are expected. CPSO Detective Allen Cormier is the lead investigator on these cases.
