BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont Police have arrested two teens after they took police on a car chase in an allegedly stolen vehicle.
On Friday, April 12, 2024 around 1:30 a.m., a BPD officer got an alert by a plate reader that a stolen 2015 black Hyundai Sonata was near Washington Boulevard and Avenue A.
Soon after that, another officer located the vehicle in the area of Washington and Fannett Road.
When the officers tried to stop the vehicle, the driver kept going and drove throughout the city, according to BPD. The vehicle became broke down near Magnolia and Weiss.
The two 16-year-old suspects then ran away on foot but were arrested by police.
They were taken to Minnie Rogers Juvenile Detention and are being charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, Evading in a motor vehicle and evading on foot.
