BEAUMONT, Texas — A 17-year-old Jasper teen is in a Beaumont hospital following a late Wednesday night shooting at a Jasper apartment complex.
Jasper Police are investigating the shooting which happened at about 11 p.m. at the Pioneer Crossing Apartment Complex at 1850 S. Bowie, according to a news release from police.
Officers and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers were sent to the complex after residents called police saying a man had been shot.
When they got there they found the 17-year-old on the ground on the north side of the complex suffering from two gunshot wounds.
He was taken by ambulance to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in stable condition, according to the release.
Police say currently no suspects have been identified in the shooting and detectives do not know what the motive for the shooting is.
Several shell casings were found on the ground between some of the apartment buildings police said.
The investigation is in its early stages.
