BEAUMONT, Texas — A Stiles Unit correctional officer was arrested this week on an official oppression charge.

Adeola Ezekiel Bosede, 45, was arrested by investigators with the Texas Office of the Inspector General at the Stiles Unit on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, according to Amanda Hernandez, Director of Communications with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

Bosede was booked into the Jefferson County Correctional Facility on Wednesday night on a misdemeanor charge of official oppression, according to jail records.

He has since been released on bond according to a jailer.

Bosede has been working at the Stiles Unit since July 2017 and has been with the TDCJ for nearly 10 years, according to Hernandez.

The TDCJ is currently seeking disciplinary action against Bosede and he is not currently allowed on state property she said.

Hernandez did not say if the charge stems from an interaction between Bosede and an inmate or another employee because the OIG is handling the investigation.

12News is reaching out to the Texas Office of the Inspector General for more information.

The Stiles Unit, which is just south of Beaumont, has a capacity of 2,887 inmates according to the TDCJ website. The prison employs 495, 359 of which are classes as "security employees."

This is a developing story. We will update with more if and when we receive more confirmed information.
