Silsbee man facing intox manslaughter charge in death of Hardin County bicyclist on Saturday afternoon

SILSBEE, Texas — A 39-year-old Silsbee man has been charged in the death of a bicyclist over the weekend in Hardin County.

Kendrick Reshard Sapp, 39, of Silsbee, was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter, which is a second degree felony, on Saturday afternoon, according to a news release from Silsbee Police.

Sapp was driving a 2015 Jeep Renegade west in the 15000 block of FM 418 at about 3:15 p.m., Saturday, August 24, 2024, when he struck Kevin Gould, 53, of Silsbee, who was riding a bicycle, police said.

Gould was pronounced dead at the scene by Hardin County Precinct Two Justice of the Peace Charles Brewer, the release said.

Sapp was arrested by Silsbee Police and charged with intoxication manslaughter. He is being held in the Hardin County Jail where Judge Brewer set his bond at $500,000.
