A driver who was discovered with a gunshot wound at the scene of a multi-car wreck in Port Arthur has died.
Police and firefighters responded to reports of a major wreck at the intersection of 39th Street and Memorial Blvd Thursday morning at about 11:30 a.m.
Police say the man was shot about a mile north of the wreck scene and was driving south on Memorial Blvd at a high speed when he struck an SUV that was crossing the intersection.
The impact caused a chain-reaction and three other cars became involved in the wreck police said.
Seven people were transported from the wreck scene according to a spokesperson with Acadian Ambulance.
The condition of the others involved is unknown and currently the intersection remains closed as police continue to investigate.
