San Antonio man shoots Beaumont relative in neck during altercation, police say

The man is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and family violence.

PORT ARTHUR, Texas — One San Antonio man is in jail after allegedly shooting his relative in the neck.

Port Arthur police say it happened Thursday afternoon in the 800 block of Stilwell Boulevard.

Officers were dispatched to the area at approximately 2:40 p.m. in reference to shots fired. Upon arrival, officers found one man with a gunshot wound to his neck. 

Police said they discovered another man at the scene who was a relative and suspect to the crime. The suspect has been identified as Whitney Como III of San Antonio.

Como was taken into custody before going to a local hospital for a "lower extremity" gunshot wound. The victim was also taken to the hospital for help.

Como is in the Jefferson County Jail being held on $75,000 bond. He’s charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and family violence.
