Port Arthur Police respond to shots fired at shopping center

Around 4:15 p.m. police arrived at Bechtel Recruitment & Development Center in a shopping center.

PORT ARTHUR, Texas — The Port Arthur Police Department responded to a call about shots fired in the 3700 block of Twin City Highway on Thursday afternoon.

Around 4:15 p.m. police arrived at Bechtel Recruitment & Development Center in a shopping center. There they found that a Precinct 4 constable truck had been hit by multiple bullets while they were working security, according to PAPD Chief Tim Duriso.

No injuries have been reported as of now, Duriso told 12News.

PAPD have one person in custody but it's unclear if they will be charged with anything.
