PORT ARTHUR, Texas — Port Arthur police have identified the victim of a suspected road rage shooting that happened during the early morning hours on Saturday.
Police have identified the victim as Jaylin Johnson, 25, who was pronounced dead on the scene.
Around 2:30 a.m., Port Arthur officers responded near the 4000 block of Memorial Blvd. along Highway 73 after receiving reports that someone was shot.
When they arrived, they found Johnson suffering from gunshot wounds.
According to police, the suspected shooter turned herself in at the station after the incident.
Police say that the victim and woman both fired shots, but it is unknown who fired first.
The woman and witnesses were interviewed and police are investigating the shooting as a road rage incident. The woman is not in custody and police are still investigating.
The case will be submitted to the District Attorney's Office and a grand jury will decide on the outcome of the case.
Right now, police are considering the suspected shooter as the "other person involved" and her name has not been released due to an ongoing investigation.
