Port Arthur Police investigating Sunday night shooting that wounded 19-year-old man

Investigators are scanning surveillance video from the area looking for clues in the shooting.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Port Arthur Police are investigating after a 19-year-old man was wounded in a shooting late Sunday night.

Police received a report of shots fired in the area of Bluebonnet Ave and 17th St at about 11:45 p.m. Sunday night according to a news release from Port Arthur Police.

A short time later, another caller to police told dispatchers that a man had been shot and then driven to Brittany Place Townhomes at 3500 Normandy Ave to call for help according to police.

The townhomes are about three miles west of where the shooting happened.

The 19-year-old man, who is cooperating with police, was taken by ambulance to Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries according to police.

Police are continuing to look for the suspect who has yet to be identified.

Investigators are scanning surveillance video from the area looking for clues in the shooting and ask that anyone with information call police or Crime Stoppers.
