Port Arthur Police investigating Lakeshore Drive carjacking

Two men told police that they were approached by several other males who held them at gunpoint and stole one of the men’s vehicles.

PORT ARTHUR, Texas — Police in Port Arthur are investigating a Friday evening carjacking.

Officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of Lakeshore Drive at about 7:25 p.m. Friday to investigate according to a news release from the Port Arthur Police Department.

Two men told police that they were approached by several other males who held them at gunpoint and stole one of the men’s vehicles the release said.

The suspects fled the area but officers were able to locate the stolen vehicle a short distance from where the carjacking took place the release said.

The suspects or the white car the fled in were not located.

The Port Arthur Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the incident.

On Friday, 11/15/2019 at approximately 7:23 PM, officers from the Port Arthur Police Department were dispatched to 1800 Lakeshore Drive in reference to a report of a carjacking. 

Officers quickly arrived on scene and spoke with two male victims.  The victims stated they were approached by several m/b suspects. 

The suspects held the victims at gunpoint and took a vehicle belonging to one of the victims.  Neither victim was injured during this incident and the suspects fled the scene. 

Responding officers searched the area and found the victim vehicle a short distance away from the offense location.  The suspects were not located.  

The suspect vehicle is described to be a white passenger car.  This incident is currently being investigated by the Port Arthur Police Criminal Investigation Division.
