PORT ARTHUR, Texas — Port Arthur Police are investigating a homicide after one person died at a hospital from a gunshot wound.
A man was brought to the Medical Center of Southeast Texas Emergency Room suffering from a gunshot wound, according to Justice of the Peace Ben Collins Sr.
An autopsy has been ordered and the victim has been identified as 31-year-old Troyne Mitchell.
Detectives are investigating this shooting as a "suspicious death" because of conflicting stories from witnesses. Some witnesses say Mitchell shot himself and some say he did not.
Detectives are looking at social media videos that people took to help during their investigation.
