Three out-of-state fugitives caught within two days by Port Arthur Police

Port Arthur officers caught an escaped Mississippi inmate on Monday and two men wanted in Louisiana, one for murder, the next day.

PORT ARTHUR, Texas — Police in Port Arthur had a busy week this week with the capture of an escaped Mississippi prison inmate on Monday followed by the arrest, on Tuesday, of two men wanted in Louisiana.

Ryan Young, 28, an escaped Mississippi Department of Corrections inmate, was caught by Port Arthur Officers on Monday.

Young escaped following a hearing in Meridian, MS, on Nov. 29, 2023, before he was to be taken back to a Mississippi prison according to a news release from the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

He was on the lamb for five days after stealing a truck in Mississippi and a car in Louisiana before he was captured by Port Arthur Police in that city without incident the release said.

He was wearing a yellow MDOC jumpsuit when he escaped.

Young was serving a 40-year sentence for vehicle and residential burglaries, grand larceny, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon according to the release.

On Tuesday Port Arthur officers arrested two men wanted in Louisiana.

Alcoby LaSalle, 30, and Eric LaSalle, 45, were both booked into the Jefferson County Correctional Facility by Port Arthur officers on Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2023, according to jail records.

Alcoby LaSalle is being held on multiple felony charges including murder, engaging in organized criminal activity, felon in possession of a firearm and several felony criminal mischief charge according to jail records.

Jail records show that Eric LaSalle is being held on a parole violation.

Port Arthur Police have not released details on the apprehension of the three men.
