Port Arthur Police arrest 20-year-old man in Friday shooting death at Avery Trace apartments

The shooting took place at about 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Avery Trace apartment complex in the 4200 block of Highway 365.

Port Arthur police have arrested a suspect in the shooting death of a 25-year-old man at a Port Arthur apartment complex Friday.

Walter Stevens Jones, 20, was arrested Monday in connection with the shooting death of Joseph Boudreaux, 25, according to ta release from the Port Arthur Police Department.

Boudreaux died at the hospital after being shot multiple times by Jones according to police.

The shooting took place at about 12:30 p.m. at the Avery Trace apartment complex in the 4200 block of Highway 365 the release said.

Witness told investigators that Jones was the shooter police said.

After an arrest warrant for Jones was issued he was taken into custody without incident the release said.

Jones is being held on murder charges at the Jefferson County Correctional Center where his bond has been set at one million dollars according to the release.

At the scene police placed several evidence markers around the scene and it appeared that several cars may have been hit by bullets.
