JEFFERSON COUNTY, Texas — Law enforcement officers took a Port Arthur murder suspect arrested in Louisiana days ago to jail in Jefferson County on Tuesday afternoon.
Jovan Neveaux is accused of having more than 2,000 ecstasy pills with him when he was arrested in Opelousas by police.
Port Arthur Police say Neveaux was part of a robbery at Valley View Apartments in April that led to the death of 26-year-old Jaylon Howard.
Neveaux was taken to the St. Landry Parish Jail on the homicide warrant until he was extradited on Tuesday, May 26.
His bond is set at $1 million on the murder charge.
Chante Grogan, 18, of Port Arthur, was also charged for helping Neveaux avoid arrest. Grogan was taken to the St. Landry Parish Jail and charged with accessory to a homicide after the fact, police said.
