BEAUMONT, Texas — A 24-year-old Port Arthur man was put on probation Wednesday morning after pleading guilty to indecency with a child.

Pride Walker Jr, 24, of Port Arthur, was sentenced to 10 years on probation and fined $500 Wednesday morning in Jefferson County's 252nd District Court by Judge Raquel West.

Walker will also have to register as a sex offender.

He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of indecency with a child and if he completes all of his probation successfully will not have a conviction on his record.

If he violates his probation, Walker must serve 10 years in prison.

Walker was originally indicted in May 2023 on a charge of aggravated sexual assault of a child for an offense that happened in 2015, according to court documents.

The victim, who was 5-years-old at the time of the offense, was interviewed at the Garth House.

Walker admitted to the crime in a phone conversation according to a probable cause affidavit in the case.
