PORT ARTHUR, Texas — A Port Arthur man has been arrested by the U.S. Marshalls Service in Austin after being on the run for a December 2023 shooting.
The Port Arthur Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Service have been searching for 20-year-old Marcus Glen Kemper. He's been wanted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
On Dec. 29, 2023, Kemper reportedly shot a gun into a parked vehicle in the 4100 block of 39th Street and hit 16-year-old Karmen Nixon who was in the passenger seat, multiple times, according to PAPD.
Following that night, Nixon spent 10 days in intensive care unit and finally returned home on Monday, Jan. 8, 2024.
It was revealed in surveillance video that two suspects armed with guns ambushed the vehicle, according to a PAPD Facebook post.
They were seen fleeing the scene on foot in the northeast direction, the post stated
The police previously asked everyone in that area to check their security camera on Dec. 29, 2023 from 1:15 a.m. to 1:35 a.m. for anything suspicious.
