LUMBERTON, Texas — Three Beaumont teens were arrested early Monday morning at around 1 a.m. after Lumberton Police searched the car and found three handguns, and a "burglary kit" consisting of a backpack with masks and gloves.
The events unfolded after officer's patrolling the 700 block of main in Lumberton pulled over the teens car for a faulty headlight.
The routine traffic stop took a turn when according to the Lumberton Police Department, officer's made a probable cause search of the car after smelling marijuana.
After finding the handguns and burglary kit, officer's then found that two of the weapons had been stolen out of Beaumont.
Jakorian Mouton, 17, Lee George III, 18 and Camden Jackson, 18 were all arrested and charged with organized criminal activity, a 3rd degree felony as well as theft of a firearm, a state jail felony.
The Beaumont Police Department told 12News that they believe these arrests will solve at least two crimes in Beaumont and may have prevented others from happening.
All three teens were taken to Hardin County Jail where they await bail.
