One person shot in late Thursday night shooting in Beaumont

On Thursday March 14, 2024 a little before 10:30 p.m. an ex-partner broke into the victim's apartment.

BEAUMONT, Texas — Beaumont Police responded to a shooting in the 2900 block of S. 8th Street late Thursday night where one person was shot.

On Thursday March 14, 2024 a little before 10:30 p.m. an ex-partner broke into the victim's apartment, according to BPD.

BPD says more people arrived and got involved in the situation. A struggle over a gun ensued and one person was shot. They were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The original suspect, a 25-year-old woman, was arrested for burglary, interference with public duties and resisting arrest. The situation is still under investigation by Family Violence Detectives.
