ORANGE, Texas — A 60-year-old man from Orange was arrested on child sex crime charges Tuesday following a standoff with police in Orange.
City of Orange Police officers got call on Tuesday, June 18 at about 1:10 p.m. reporting that Keith Reed, 60, of Orange, was threatening to harm himself, according to police.
When officers got to the 7000 block of FM 1130 they were able to talk to Reed and begin negotiations with him.
Not long after they started speaking to him, officers were able to detain him without incident, according to police.
After some further investigation, Reed was arrested for aggravated sexual assault of a child.
Detectives with the City of Orange Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division are continuing to investigate the case.
Reed is being in the Orange County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
