Orange man busted on meth charges after police discover meth hidden in Cheetos bag

PINEHURST — An Orange man is behind bars after officers discovered meth hidden in a Cheetos bag as well as other drugs and paraphernalia in his car.

Joseph Allen Guidry, 41, of Orange, was arrested by Pinehurst Police Saturday on an outstanding possession of drug paraphernalia warrant as well as second degree felony possession of a controlled substance according to a release from the Pinehurst Police Department.

Police responded to a suspicious vehicle call in the area of Somerset and Bayou Bend on Saturday afternoon and found Guidry parked near the woods the release said.

A warrant check revealed that Guidry was wanted on the warrant out of Orange Municipal Court and he was arrested.

When officers checked his car they found a plastic bag on the front passenger seat containing what officers believed to be methamphetamine according to the release.

Officers then found an open Cheetos bag containing a latex glove containing more suspected methamphetamine the release said.

Police also found drug paraphernalia in the car including a glass pipe, portable scale, propane torch and small bags suspected to be used for drug distribution.

Guidry is being held on a $25,000 bond for the possession charge and could face a $10,000 fine and from two to 20 years in prison if convicted.
