ORANGE COUNTY, Texas — An Orange County man was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to two counts of sex crimes against a child.

Donald McMath pleaded guilty on December 8, 2022 to one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child and one count of sexual performance of a child.

Sentences on both counts will run concurrently.

Prosecutor Bard Anderson tells 12News McMath will be eligible for parole after 30 years.

“We have a case involving a small child being sexually abused by a trusted member of the family. We think the sentence today shows we are going to take these cases seriously and seek sentences that are just and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law," Anderson said.
