BEAUMONT, Texas — Police have arrested a 19-year-old Southeast Texas man in connection with shots being fired Sunday night at a Beaumont apartment complex.
Beaumont Police officers have arrested Cameron Jayce Smith, 19, on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and deadly conduct/discharging a firearm.
Smith is being held on the second and and third degree felony charges in the Jefferson County Correctional Facility on bonds totaling $40,000 according to jail records
A disturbance at the Hamlet Townhomes in the 3700 block of Crow Road Sunday night before 8 p.m. escalated when shots were fired.
No one was wounded but person did receive minor cuts according to police.
"Numerous" shell casings were found at the scene while detectives were on scene.
The people know each each other according to Beaumont Police Department Sgt Thomas Swope
The person who received minor injuries was treated and released from a Southeast Texas Hospital according to Swope.
