NEWTON COUNTY, Texas — The Newton County Sheriff's Office is searching for a second person involved in a police chase.
On September 10 at 10:30am, Newton County deputies began a pursuit on Highway 87 just south of FM 1416 after two men on ATVs evaded deputies.
One subject was located and found to be in possession of a controlled substance.
Dakota Paul McCaughn, 27, was arraigned and charged with possession of a controlled substance and evading arrest.
McCaughn's bond was set at $35,000.00. He has bonded out of jail.
Deputies are still searching for Justin Clay Williams, 28. He is wanted for evading arrest and a capias bond forfeiture warrant.
