BEAUMONT, Texas — A driver in a stolen pickup led multiple agencies on a high speed chase that began in Orange County and continued into Chambers County Thursday morning.

Orange County deputies attempted to stop a stolen truck with Mississippi plates at about 7:30 a.m. but the driver refused to pull over, according to Capt. Joey Jacobs of the sheriff's office.

After leading deputies, police and troopers on the chase for more than an hour and more than 86 miles the driver jumped out of the truck in Channelview and ran.

Police are currently searching the area around Lorenzo and Tower Streets for the driver.

The suspect was armed, according to Vidor Police Chief Rod Carroll.

The chase started along Interstate 10 near FM 1132, according to Jacobs.

It quickly moved from Orange to Jefferson County and is moving into Chambers County.

The chase involved a stolen gray 2022 Dodge 3500 pickup truck, according to Capt. Crystal Holmes, of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

The truck was stolen at an Orange County gas station, Jacobs told 12News.
