A run-of-the-mill transaction took a dangerous turn at a West Orange AT&T store, when a woman pulled a gun on the store clerk and demanded several devices.
According to West Orange Police Chief Jesse Romero, a woman walked into the AT&T store located in the 3100 block of Edgar Brown Drive in West Orange while wearing what appeared to be a wig and mask.
The woman reportedly then asked the clerk about cell phones and other merchandise in the store before asking the clerk about a specific item.
The clerk told the woman that she would need to go to the back to get information from a safe.
However, as the clerk made her way into the back room of the store the woman followed her. The woman then reportedly brandished a gun and forced the clerk to give her items including phones, iPads, Apple Watches, and other expensive items from the safe.
The woman then immediately fled the store with these items according to Chief Romero.
The investigation is ongoing and police are trying to identify the suspect.
