Wanted man, woman arrested in Fred after Tyler County deputies find meth during search

On January 18, 2024 around 7:30 p.m., Tyler County deputies got information that Roy Kendrick IV, a man wanted in several counties, was at a residence in Fred.

FRED, Texas — Tyler County Sheriff's Office arrested two people in Fred after locating wanted man and finding methamphetamine during a search.

On January 18, 2024 around 7:30 p.m., Tyler County deputies got information that Roy Kendrick IV, a man wanted in several counties, was at a residence in Fred, off County Road 4653, according to a TCSO news release.

As deputies from Tyler & Hardin Counties surrounded the residence, a silver SUV was spotted leaving the residence. More deputies were able to do a traffic stop on the SUV at a Dollar General Store in the city, the release states.

Deputies talked to the driver, and identified her as Brandi Nicholle Brown, 38, of Fred. Kendrick, was a passenger in the vehicle. He was taken into custody for multiple outstanding warrants.

While conducting a search of Brown, deputies located a green container with multiple bags containing a crystal-like substance. This substance field tested positive for meth.

Both Kendrick and Brown were brought to the Tyler County Jail.

Kendrick has been charged with tampering with identification Numbers, criminal trespass, unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, felony possession of substance, felony burglary of a building, felony theft of property with previous conviction and felony burglary of vehicle, according to the release.

Justice of the Peace Tina Self set Kendrick's bond at $222,000.

Brown was charged with felony hindering apprehension or prosecution, felony possession of controlled substance and driving while license invalid, according to the release.

Justice of the Peace Self set Brown's bond at $70,000.
