PORT ARTHUR, Texas — A man with a murder warrant in Louisiana took Port Arthur Police on a chase on Thursday.
Around 1 p.m. on April 5, PAPD tried to stop an GMC SUV in the 5000 block of Gulfway Drive.
The driver has been identified by police as 36-year-old Alfred James Washington Jr. Instead of pulling over, Washington tried to speed off, according to Police Chief Timothy Duriso.
The chase ended when Washington wrecked in the 1300 block of Lakeview.
Duriso tells 12News that the vehicle was not stolen. Police detained him and two other people at the scene. One of the them is a 43-year-old woman and the other is a 49-year-old woman.
PAPD found that Washington was armed with a handgun, and it was taken.
