Police: Man threw drugs out of truck window while leading police on chase in Orange Monday night

Jamaal Booker was arrested and charged with evading arrest with a motor vehicle. He has since then bonded out.

ORANGE, Texas — Orange Police arrested a man that led them on a chase Monday night.

On March 6, 2023 around 11:30 p.m., Orange Police tried to stop a Chevy pickup truck at the intersection of Strickland Drive and MLK Drive for a traffic violation.

The driver, now identified as Jamaal Booker, refused to pull over.

Police followed Booker onto MLK Drive to 16th Street, where he finally pulled over into a Taco Bell.

During the chase, police say Booker threw drugs out the window of his vehicle in front of West Orange Elementary School.

Police were able to locate and retrieve the drugs. 

Booker was arrested and charged with evading arrest with a motor vehicle. He has since then bonded out.
