BEAUMONT, Texas — A Beaumont man has been indicted for child endangerment after being accused of pointing a gun at his girlfriend while she was holding their child.
The girlfriend of Damian Ardoin, 39, of Beaumont, told police that on Oct. 1, 2023, Ardoin got a rifle from the closet, "cocked" it at her and verbally threatened her.
The girlfriend says she was holding their child when Ardoin threatened her and she feared for her life, according to a probable cause affidavit.
She told police Ardoin grabbed her legs, pulled her out of bed and dragged her to the living room where he pulled her hair, stomped on her neck.
This caused her to lose the ability to breathe for a short time as he used his body weight to hold her down, according to the affidavit.
Police officers say they observed physical injuries on the woman.
Ardoin was transported and booked into the Jefferson County Jail.
