Man arrested for DWI, crashing into BPD patrol vehicles

BEAUMONT, Texas — A man was arrested for driving while intoxicated after he crashed into Beaumont Police patrol vehicles late Friday night.

Two Beaumont police patrol vehicles were parked with their directional lights activated in the 2200 block of Ave C around 10:12 p.m.

The yellow flashing indicators on the rear of the emergency light bar were activated due to officers responding to a call at a nearby residence.

After the crash was investigated by officers, Castillo was arrested for driving while intoxicated.

He was taken to a nearby hospital for medical clearance before being booked into the Jefferson County Correctional Facility.
