Man arrested for Saturday night shooting at Beaumont apartment complex

BEAUMONT, Texas — The Beaumont Police Department are investigating a late night shooting at a Beaumont apartment complex.

Saturday night at around 10 p.m. officers were called for a possible shooting at Timbers Edge Apartments according to Sergeant Tom Swope.

Swope says that the victim as well as the alleged shooter were both immediately found at the scene.

The shooting reportedly stemmed from an altercation between the two individuals who knew each other.

The victim was reportedly rushed to the hospital and is now in stable condition.

The shooter has been identified as Beaumont resident John Wayne Dixon, he has been booked into the Jefferson County Jail on an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge.
