Lumberton Police arrest three suspects in burglary of Brookshire Brothers

On Friday morning, around 2:30 a.m., a burglar alarm went off at the Brookshire Brothers on South Main in Lumberton.

LUMBERTON, Texas — The Lumberton Police Department arrested three out of five suspects in the burglary of the Brookshire Brothers grocery store.

On Friday morning, around 2:30 a.m., a burglar alarm went off at the Brookshire Brothers on South Main in Lumberton.

When officers got there they discovered that the burglars entered the store from the back door, which had been pried open, according to LPD Police Chief Danny Sullins.

Once they were inside, officers located several burglars. They were able to catch two suspects who ran out of the building to a nearby trailer park where a getaway car was parked, according to Sullins.

Later in the day another suspect was found and arrested. Police are still looking for two suspects, but they are all from the Houston area, Sullins told 12News.

Officers on scene say the group was caught in the act of stealing multiple cartons of cigarettes, according to Sullins.
