LUMBERTON, Texas — A Lumberton man has been arrested on five counts of possession of child pornography Tuesday afternoon.
21-year-old Wyatt Ray Sawyer was arrested after a two month investigation by investigators with the Texas Attorney General’s office, according to Lumberton Police Chief Danny Sullins.
Judge Steve Thomas issued five arrest warrants for Sawyer.
At the end of August 2023, Lumberton Police assisted Texas Attorney General investigators with a search warrant at a home in the 500 block of Jordan Drive, according to Chief Sullins.
During the investigation they found over 2,000 files containing child pornography, Chief Sullins said.
Sawyer was charged by Justice of the Peace Melissa Minton and his bond was set at $250,000 for each charge, totaling over $1 million.
