ORANGE, Texas — A late night surveillance of an alleged drug dealer that lasted from Monday evening into the early hours of Tuesday morning, ended in the arrest of the suspect.

After a lengthy investigation into the distribution of meth around the area, the Precinct 2 Constables Office along with Orange Police Department Narcotics Officers began surveillance of the alleged drug dealer.

At around 1 a.m. the officers and deputies decided to make their move.

They conducted a traffic stop of the suspects vehicle at a Fuel Mart in Mauriceville, and after searching the car discovered and seized 40 grams of meth and 1.5 grams of "crack cocaine".

The alleged dealer, and the two people with them, were all arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.

Constable Jeremiah Gunter said in a Facebook post that he thanks the Orange Police Department and especially their Narcotics Investigators for their assistance.

The Precinct 2 Constables Office urges the public to contact their office with any information regarding the dealing of narcotics.

"The things that we accomplish in this Precinct come from citizens reaching out with concerns," said Gunter.

The Orange Police Department has yet to release the names of the accused.

This is a developing story. We will update with more if and when we receive more confirmed information.
